GRAD Scholars and Scholar club
Two meetings of Scholars took place this month. GRAD Scholars from Aldine Ninth are dreaming big, they are being goal-oriented and they are committing to giving back to a worthy purpose. The Top 20 Most Involved Scholars thus far were recognized and a huge congratulations to Jolette Palomares for earning Most Involved Scholar as of January 2020. Scholars reflected on what they did the first semester of the school year. Scholars are pursuing an opportunity to give back with Montgomery County Youth Services.
STUDENT WORKSHOP
This month students were given support and were presented information on having an A+ Attitude, on having a three to five year personal plan and about giving back to their school and community.
CAREER CONVERSATION
A guest speaker from the Petro-Chemical industry provided students an opportunity to learn about their experience with the Petro-Chemical Industry east of Houston. Students were presented information about jobs and careers in the Petro-Chemical industry and the education needed for those jobs. Guest speaker answered questions and encouraged students to explore their interest in and outside the classroom and provided some online resources to help with that.
GRADUATION CONVERSATION
A recent graduate of The University of Houston provided students the most current information about The University of Houston. Guest speaker spoke about how they prepared for college, the difference between high school and college and what it took for them to earn a college degree.

Aldine Ninth Grade would like to wish Mr. Cantu much success in his new endeavors. We are thankful for all the work he has done for the students and families at our campus the past two and half years and are sad to see him go.
