On Thursday, February 13th, Mrs. Moreno and Mr. Green took their visual art students to the Houston Center for Contemporary Craft. The field trip was sponsored by a grant from Program Director Dr. Kelley. While at the museum, students learned about form v. function and fine art v. craft. Students have been learning about Art and Science, as well as 2D and 3D in the classeroom and were able to make real world connections through the exhibits. Field experience included learning about jewelry as a contemporary craft and then creating a wearable piece using new learned techniques, traditional and found materials. Students and teachers enjoyed their experience.
