Dear Parents,

Our records indicate that your child may need to recover course credit lost during the regular school year. Aldine Ninth Grade School will be offering virtual credit recovery courses in Algebra 1 A & B, World Geography A & B, Biology A & B, and English 1 A & B.  All students enrolled in credit recovery courses will take courses online through a virtual school setting. The Summer Experience Credit Recovery Camp is set to start on June 8th and end on July 1st. This is a grand OPPORTUNITY for students to regain credits toward graduation.

Credit Recovery

Credit recovery courses will be offered through an online program called Edgenuity. All courses in this credit recovery program are free. Students will have 24 hour access to online courses with specific guidelines and expectations. Also, there will be support coaches (credit recovery teachers) assigned to your child that will be responsible for daily progress monitoring, weekly grade reports, providing instructional feedback and communicating with students and parents.  A student may earn 0.5 credit each session for a total of 1 credit. Any grade made in these courses will be posted on the student’s transcript and will affect grade point average.

Student Requirements for the course:

  • Work in each course 2 hours a day
  • Communicate with your assigned teacher twice a week
  • Must complete 100% of the course by Deadline Date
  • Must schedule Final Exam with your assigned teacher two days before your scheduled exam date
  • The student must take notes on a daily basis (Teacher may ask to see notes anytime)

Online Learning Commitment Letter

 

Dear Student:

You will be enrolled in ___ Credit Recovery Course for Summer Experience Camp 2020. The course will be offered through an online program called Edgenuity. It will take place online through a virtual school setting starting June 8, 2020. You will be assigned to a support coach (credit recovery teacher) that will be responsible for daily progress monitoring, weekly grade reports, providing instructional feedback and communicating with you and parents.  The GOAL is to earn 0.5 credit for each course you are enrolled in. All credits earned will appear on your transcript. Credits will apply toward the six needed for sophomore classification, and most importantly, help you stay on track for high school graduation.

 Student Commitment

  • I will work in each course 2 hours a day
  • I will take notes on a daily basis (Submit notes to Support Coaches when requested)
  • I will communicate with assigned support coach a minimum of twice a week
  • I will schedule Final Exam two days before your scheduled exam date
  • I will aim to complete 100% of the course by Deadline Date
  • I understand that I must have 100% Course Completion with 70% average or higher to earn .5 credit for the course
