HOUSTON, TX: Fredric Navarre, a long-time Houston educator and owner of Park Place Valet, is
providing current and former students with something they cannot get in the classroom; real life
business experience, paid employment and entrepreneurial mentorship.
Navarre, who has taught and served as an administrator at multiple levels from elementary school
to college, is a driving force behind giving students a pathway to success from the classroom to
careers. At his Houston-based Park Place Valet Company, students hold paid positions and gain firsthand experience in every facet of the business, while developing a structured and dependable work
ethic.
“There are so many young people who excel academically, but often lack the financial support and
practical opportunities to achieve their dreams,” said Navarre. “The students are great employees
and they play an important role in the company. We work side-by-side and it not only helps them
learn about every aspect of the business from the inside out, it gives them a tangible model of success
and the social, practical and professional skills to help them achieve their goals.”
In addition to being a career educator and multi-business entrepreneur, Navarre is an Academic
Visitor at Rice University, an Adult Education Instructor at the Harris County Department of
Education, a Technical Reviewer for NASA STEM Pathway Activities Consortium for Education and
the Chairman of the Achievement Through Leadership Foundation, which awards annual
scholarships to Houston Area high school seniors and undergraduates from Texas universities, along
with providing programs to encourage Black and Hispanic young men in Greater Houston to pursue
careers in STEM.
At Park Place Valet, Navarre employs current and former students in every aspect of the business.
The company is a trusted Houston provider of valet services for corporate and special events, parking
garage and parking management services, and custom transportation services from limousines to
employee shuttles and group transportation.
Navarre, whose commitment to community leadership has played a major role in programs and
organizations throughout Greater Houston, hopes to be a catalyst for providing talented students
and young people in the community with the motivation, academic tools and opportunities they
need to take them to the next level. He is hopeful the employment program at Park Place Valet will
inspire more local businesses to follow his lead and provide students with employment, business,
and leadership opportunities. He was also recently elected to serve on the Texas Southern University JHJ School of Business Board of Directors.
