The Men of Color Success Programs at the University of Houston-Downtown, are hosting its Spring 2021 Workshop for any and all males of color ranging from 10th grade – through senior in college. The purpose of this workshop is to introduce males to leadership programs at UH Downtown – ‘Men of L.E.G.A.C.I.’ (Leadership. Excellence. Grades. Access. Collaboration. Identity) and ‘Call Me MISTER’ (Mentors Instructing Students Toward Effective Role Models) – which offer opportunities for collegiate academic support, brotherhood and mentoring as students complete their degree and move into career opportunities.
This virtual workshop will feature breakout rooms to allow students an opportunity connect with leaders in the community and each other to have impactful dialogue about what it means to be a man of color in an educational and career environment as well as in the community. For any seniors in high school or transfer students preparing to enroll at UH Downtown in Fall 2021 – this is your early opportunity to get connected.
