Teen CERT in Atascocita
Health Science students traveled to Atascocita to participate in a Teen CERT, which stands for Community Emergency Response Team. There were 2 teams of 10 people and each team had a team leader, safety officer, and a scribe. Students participated in several activities including fire suppression, tower search, size-up crime scene investigation, medical treatment, patient transport, and incident command system. Ms. Wise is the teacher and sponsor.
Practicing Surgical Procedures
In Ms. Wise’s Health Science classes students reviewed directional terms, cavities, and planes while practicing surgical procedures. Students also learned about autopsies. All practices took place using Play-Doh and Mr. Doh did not survive any procedures.
