Over thirty students on the Aldine Ninth Grade School Campus had the opportunity to hear about College and Career opportunities with the City of Houston. During the Fall Semester, Jacqualine Byrd Lovelady, a representative from the Human Resources Department for the City of Houston brought, personnel from the Fire Department, Emergency Medical Technician Department, and the 9-1-1 Call Center to talk about their jobs and how their jobs have helped them continue their education.
Ms. Lovelady is working with Harriet Smith, the Student Support Manager on campus to set up more visits during the Spring Semester. Additional City of Houston Department personnel will be scheduled to talk about their jobs and the educational opportunities after high school that are available through the City of Houston. Be sure to watch for announcements on this website and on posters near Room B104 on campus.
