As a reminder, the Aldine Independent School District requires all students to wear their student ID badges visibly at school. This helps the safety and security of all students and staff. Failure to comply with this policy may result in disciplinary action.

The multipurpose badges are critical in keeping our students safe and accounted for. They are not just for show. These badges are used for bus transportation to and from school and within the schools. They also help staff identify possible intruders more easily, ensuring a secure environment for everyone.

The multipurpose badges enable school staff to efficiently check students in when they visit the nurse’s or counselor’s office, ensuring that staff quickly know where students are in the event of an emergency. This system is a testament to AISD’s unwavering commitment to your safety and security, ensuring that students and staff are always our top priority.

Staff Members Also Wear ID and Centegix CrisisAlert Badges

Staff members across the district wear ID badges, identifying them as school- or district-level staff. Staff IDs enable students to identify a trusted staff member who can promptly enforce the appropriate protocol, such as reporting suspicious activity or seeking help in an emergency.

Additionally, staff members wear CrisisAlert badges. CrisisAlert is a safety and security solution that provides precise alert location, immediate audio and visual incident notifications, simple activation via a CrisisAlert badge, and 100% full school coverage. It allows teachers and staff to call for help with a simple press of a button on a wearable badge. The solution provides first responders with accurate location information, enabling faster response times. The badges have two settings: three clicks for lower-level emergencies and eight or more clicks for serious emergencies. CrisisAlert can also activate an emergency lockdown, triggering audio and visual notifications and allowing remote alerts for single schools or districtwide incidents.

Reminders for All Staff Regarding ID and CrisisAlert Badges
    • ID and CrisisAlert badges should be visible and worn above the waist.
    • ID and CrisisAlert badges should be continuously worn on the person while they are in an AISD facility; they should not be placed on or in a bag, etc.
    • Do not place stickers on either badge’s front or back. Stickers can block the transmitters in the badges.

School Visitors

Students and all adults — this includes staff members not assigned to the school/building/facility — visiting an AISD school must enter through the main entrance. They will be asked to sign in and provide an ID. All school visitors and volunteers will be screened using the Raptor system, a security software that alerts the school administration to potential threats. Once checked in and approved to pass through, they will be given a visitor’s sticker to wear visibly.
